PiezoDrive was founded in 2009 and operates as part of Newcastle Innovation Ltd., the commercial arm of the University of Newcastle.
The aim of PiezoDrive is to improve the performance of piezoelectric actuators and to facilitate the development of new piezoelectric devices and systems.

PiezoDrive was founded by Dr. Andrew Fleming who is an expert in piezoelectric systems including high-voltage amplifiers and power supplies, sub-nanometer positioning systems, atomic force microscopes, and aerospace structures.
Dr. Fleming is the author of more than 100 scientific papers, 2 books and several patent applications.
